Sheri continues the tradition of upholstery from her Great-Great Grandfather Jacob Schauss. At an early age, she begun needle work under the tutelage of her mother Carol ( the great grand daughter of Jacob). Over the years, Sheri grew in knowledge of fabrics, intricate needle work and Upholstering. Her skills include wool spinning, weaving, knitting, cross-stitch, upholstering vintage furniture, and quilting. Sheri's joy of trying new aspects of sewing lead her to begin upholstering vintage German cars.
Jacob was born in Rhineland, Prussian in the year 1855. May 1868, at Age 13, Jacob and his family immigrated to America via New York. He and his family left NYC and moved to Milwaukee Wi. At age 15 he was working as an upholster the help his support his family. While Jacob had may types of jobs in upholstery. It is noted that later in his life he worked for the railroad reupholstering the coaches.
